my neighbor has a fear of birds. It is so bad that her four year old son has to chase the birds outside before she will get into her car. I finally stopped filling my bird feeder. I feel bad that my bird bath goes empty, but I understand some people have fears.

If the bird could really hurt you bad like maybe the larger birds or like a dog or a snake. But small birds I don't or should I say i am unable to understand why you would be afraid of them.
Mine birds bite me from time to time but not a big deal. My grand daughters are scared to death of the sun conure but the will play with the tiel. The tiel can bite and can hurt but it is a small bite but the conure has a very big mouth and could crunch a finger if he wanted to. Or maybe it is the way some birds will come after you. I have been at a friends house and they had a couple of large birds. Them jerks scared me and I get along great with birds. They acted like they wanted a bite of me and they had a mouth that if they was to bite someone it would take a doctors visit.
If you want you could get you a small bird like a couple of finch or something to get over that fright.

Omg, I thought I was one of the only ones. I am terrified of birds. Especially chickens, I hate chicken. But really any bird scares the crap out of me.

Don't even worry about it, many people probably have the fear, it most likely isn't as un-common as you might believe, it will eventually pass one day :)

yes my daughter is absolutely petrified of birds.it didnt help her any when she was attacked by a crow! you are not alone!
