Some people assume that because they weren't able to control themselves until they were married, that no one else is able to do so either, or that the only people who are virgins for a long time must have something wrong with them. But I don't think it's that much of an accomplishment either - it's not *that* hard to not have sex. Really it isn't.

In today's society that is a big accomplishment, sex is everywhere and people of all ages are doing it, let's get honest if you wait until you are twenty you are probably one of the few that have great pride and security and have ambitions other then trying to be comforted or seen by another. The body needs to be embraced so hopefully parents will hug their kids more, send out some love to strangers give them a holla we all need to feel connected so pass the love and share some space, hopefully we can catch up to those in need and change the sexual activity of our adolescents

Sounds like they succumbed to peer pressure.
Societies moral value has decayed. I think it is because not as many people go to church nowadays. It is NOT a big accomplishment to loose your virginity before marriage. It would be more of an embarrassment. Some people may not think so, they're loosers.

oh please no one waits till they're married anymore, with so many people getting married for the first time when they're like thirty five, you don't want to wait, and then there's always the risk you'll end up a spinster AND a virgin...who wants that???
Also, more women are going to college, and I think it's easier to lose your virginity there than at home, where your parents would freak out and you probably wouldn't be able to do it anywhere comfortable anyways (you'd have to go into the woods or something) because your parents would always be around.

Because no one respects themselves anymore.
And it's not 20, I'm 16 and I can count on my fingers and toes girls that have lost it. And haven't stopped at one partner.
When the day comes that people begin to respect their body and honor it as God wishes, then saving this beautiful act until marriage will be most's priority.
It saddens me too. Especially when a girl drops out of high school to have a baby.

People rush into everything these days. They want instant gratification. They are impatient and they succumb to peer pressure and media brainwashing. It takes real strength of character for a young person (male or female) to postpone sex until marriage or, at least, until they are older and have a steady partner.

Because the girls on those shows are morons with low self-esteem and desperate for acceptance, and girls just accept it as normal behavior and copy it. It's really sad that they are the role models for today's youth.

Not sure, but its sad and disturbing to watch the trend. I waited till I was married, and it was absolutely wonderful. I have this thing that only my wife and I share. I was 23.
