it is actually safe to use a larger rating of conductor such as wires, male/female plug because your appliance will use 1200w and your plug can stand 1500w, actually in electrical safety rules the minimum rating for conductor should be 20 higher than the load,1200+ [1200x20percent] is 1440 so 1500w must be the nearest available to buy
note : some answers must have confuse plug for power supply

It's okay. the 1200 watt appliance will only use the current it is designed for so a larger rated plug okay. i was a kichen mechanic 20 years, belive me it's okay. just don't try to use a smaller rated plug on a higher rated unit.

You will overpower the appliance and it might burn or fry the inside all together. I wouldn't recomment you do it.
