The only, and true answer would be some chickens come first, and some eggs come first. Put in the singular, the answer is hypothetical, or at least unprovable.

Simple - the egg came first. It's just basic evolution.

At one time in prehistoric times, there was an animal that resembled a chicken, but it wasn't. A random mutation in this proto-chicken's DNA allowed it to lay an egg for the first chicken. The chick came from the egg, so the egg came first.

It has been "proved" scientifically that the egg came first.

If you think about how evolution takes affect then something not quite close enough to a chicken to be called a chicken yet more or less very similar layed an egg and what came out was very close to it's parent but slightly different. That slight difference was enough for it to be called a chicken.

Actually, chicks don't need nurturing. They only need to be kept warm. So if the egg was hatched in a warm place, the chick would grow just fine.
Chickens could come first. They could be an aberration or a mutant from some other creature who may have been zapped by a stray ray from outer space.

The egg came first. It was laid by a fish which later evolved into a dinosaur, which laid an egg that hatched into something that evolved into a chicken.
