I didn't think so at first either, but I'm so sorry to say that it's true. It's been on the news on television all day long. He was filming for a show & a stingray attacked him. Apparently the tail embedded in his heart, but that's not confirmed as cause of death just yet. More should be forthcoming in the following day or so.

It's true. What a freak accident. I know they'll have to do an autopsy to determine actual cause of death, but to die from a sting ray stabbing you, ouch! I heard on the news that he probably died instantly if the barb struck his heart or main vessels.
Our prayers should go out to Terri, Bindy sue and little Bob.

Yes it is true. Everyone will miss him, I'm sure. Just pray for his wife and daughter. I know all the people that worked with him must have been very upset and in shock. He was too young to die. All the animals he loved so much may even feel the loss. I know I do, and I have never felt that for a t.v. personality.

I know when I first saw the headline, I thought it was a hoax... or something for publicity...
It is true...... yet sad.... he's been in the headlines before for unsafe practices... seems ironic he died at the "hands" as it were of his profession.
I may not have all the details, but seems to me he should have paid more attention to his own saftey! Now his kid will have to grow up not knowing his father!
Sad indeed...

Yes, he was struck in the heart with the poisonous barb on a stingrays tail. He was dead by the time rescue got there.

Yes. He got stung by a stingray barb and it made a hole through his heart. He was filming for his show.

died yesterday at about 11 am due to heart failure after having his chest pierced by a a stingray barb
