Some many non-Christians keep saying this and yet I have never seen a Christian ridicule or bash anyone! Many say their opinions, but never any of those things you people say... after all, how could you call them Christians then? Christians aren't perfect, no one is, but usually we Christians take care not to impose our religion... if people who are (or at least claim to be) Christian though act as too much of an extreme one, than he/she isn't a real Christian. But that's another story... quite complex and long.

Hope I answered you already.

Hello!! :o) IF you were standing in front of me - you would SEE that I am a 6'3" tall 43 year old white guy. IF I TOLD you [as you were standing in front of me] that I was - in 'fact' - a 4'7" tall 85 year old Asian woman - would you believe me?! Why not? Because you can SEE that I'm NOT?! Well... the same goes for what someone CLAIMS as their faith. ANYONE can SAY, "I am a Christian!!" But that doesn't make it so. A Christian is one who follows Christ. And it was CHRIST who said, "He who is without sin - cast the first stone!!" So IF you come in contact with a stone throwing 'Christian' - you will have every right to question whether or not that 'Christian' really IS a 'Christian'. To sum all of this up.... a Christian does NOT ridicule ANYONE. Craig!! :o)

Not all people who call themselves Christian are Christian. Some are just "Sunday Christians". A true Christian follows Christ. They would know better than to insult others who are not Christian.

However in light of this... many non-Christians provoke Christians to anger. There needs to be calm reflection and understanding on both sides.

Same reason people of other religions (or non-religions, in the case of athesists and agnostics) ridicule Christians. "Some" people are just jerks.

It is sadly a Christian trait to want to be Holier than though, Judgemental and self serving. Their attitude reflects a desire to look good in other Christians eyes.

Take pity on them though - if the bible is true and god, heaven and hell exist then their sins will ban them from heaven and condemn them to hell leaving plenty of room for all of us non believers who have led far more moral, accepting, honest and upright lives!!!!!

Because they don't know how to be a Christian. That is the bottom line of it. They have elevated themselves to judge.

Makes them feel they are righteous I suppose. I think they may feel threatened by non-believers. I mean, if so many of us don't buy in to that fire and brimstone, take the bible literally stuff, it may give these believers pause. Instead of really examining their beliefs it is way easier to just ridicule and condemn us all to hell.

Because they are guilty of the sin of pride and are judging people. Most Christians I know think they are superior because they believe that they have been saved. But if they behave this way, what would Jesus think? I wonder what their answer would be?

Not a very accepting view.
I don't know so much if it's scorn or ridicule. It isn't nice to devalue someones belief systems. We should all respect each other.
