O.K. I'm not old I'm 23. It's just that I'm confused. Is talking to someone like dating? because I know you can talk to more then one person at once.. and when do you know if you are actually going out with the person?

talking means your in the process of getting to know each other to be in a relationship. your figureing that person out. and you can talk to more than one person at a time. im very forward if i dont know if we're in a relationship i ask, " are we officially dateing or not?"

I'm afraid that talking to someone doesn't qualify as dating, though it can be just as enjoyable and may mean as much. The word "dating" is kind of passe these days. It used to mean setting up a date on the calendar that you would meet a person for a special event. Nowadays, you can "hook up" with someone after work, after school, or on the weekends; by yourself or with other friends, and the concept of it being a "date" doesn't really qualify anymore, even though you have just spent an evening being around that person. In your situation, if you want to progress to dating, you should plan an activity together, just the two of you. If talking is fine, you can leave it at that.

talking to someone is just that, talking to someone
it is not like dating
I talk to my daughter all the time, it is not like dating
however, long intimate talks between a man and a women are like dating if the talk includes the kind of feeling out and closeness that is what a date is about
it isn't whether you are "talking" it is what you say and how you say it
many people have done all their "courting" by mail, without ever "dating"
they still developed much of the same intimacy that comes with dating

"talking to someone" could mean they are dating or just having sex. LOL...you will know if the person really wants to date you or is just looking for sex and a good time. you can tell by the body language and if when they call you.
For instance, if a dude just wants sex...then he will call you after 2 o'clock bar call....hence booty call. If he wants to be friends with benefits then he will ask you to come out and hang out and then go home and have sex. You probably won't hear from him for a few weeks but he'll call and ask you out again. If he wants to get serious then you'll probably hear from throughout the week. Like...hey I'm at lunch just giving you a call to see how your day is going..btw do you want to do something on Friday? he may just give you a call just to chat....it that's the case then he's more interested in you than just a booty call or a friend with benefits.

Well, you don't talk nicely (flirting) with a bunch of guys at the same time... so talking to someone means.... trying to go out with him. You find out that if he really likes you, he will let you know. And you will be going out on a date again and again and again.

Talking to a person means that you are trying communicate, that is all, it doesn't mean dating, and to answer your second question the only way to find out if you are going out with a person is to ask the person.

Talking to someone is when you two are doing just that, still talking and getting to know each other. You are not expected to be exclusive unless you two have "had that conversation" and you are their girlfriend after that conversation has also been had. It is all so draining, it makes me so happy I am not out there dating anymore

talking and having feelings are two different things....if u feel while talking to someone u have soem place for that person in ur heart...go on he is making u feel in a dating procedure....but u talk to someone and nothing about him clicks ..then might as well say " ok u not the right one" keep going till u find ur kind....talking to someone is basically getting to know him ...thats it

I been single 14 years and have many guy friends I go and do stuff with,some I have had make moves on me,I just tell them I don't want to ruin our friendship and I have almost all guy friends I hang out and talk with!I am 45 years old..opps,,young!

talking to a person means you are getting to know them or dating. you are actually going out with a person when you two are exclusive.
