If you eliminated religion you would practically eliminate everything there is to fight about.

haha you spelt the header wrong.
lol
ok so....
no. Religion and Spirituality cannot be defined by whats happening in the middle East. What is happening there is about much more than just religion - there is so much more to it - politics, greed, corrupt governments...
If the Middle East makes Spirituality stupid, then what does the past 35 years of Northern Irish troubles say for Christianity and religion? Just a thought....

It seems a human weakness that people want an identity beyond being human, which is common to us all. People are not satisfied to be just human, they have to be a man or a woman, a Chelsea supporter. For every group identity that gives positive cohesion to its members, there is the negative created of the "Outsiders" who are not in that group.
Culture is such a very strong group identity, and language, manners, and religion, are just elements of that culture, and reinforce membership of, and identity with, that group.
Whether we look at Irish Catholics, and Protestants, Israel and Palestine, Muslims, and Christians, what ever conflict that exists all stems from that need for a group identity.
Religion does not create conflict, for religion in its purest form can only show us that we are all in the palm of the creator, all breath the same breath, dance to the same music, and are awakened by the same light, and are all citizens of the One Country..
It is only where religion is debased to become a mere instrument of culture and the creation of difference that it can become an instrument of conflict.

I can understand the frustration & wisdom behind your question, the conflict in the middle east is due to bodily identification and mental conditioning, this creates activity totally oppossed in the extreme to real religious/spiritual values.
A good analogy of this is as follows:-
One day an old man divided his children into two groups and assigned to them the task of massaging his body, he assigned an equal portion of both halves and they commenced the task, after some time a dispute broke out about who was performing the better job, the teams then grew violent against the other and to discredit the other team started beating the portion of the body assigned to the other side, therefore promoting themselves as the best.
This is the position of modern day religious groups who instead of loving God are promoting themselves and their team or group as the best.
The purpose of mature spiritual/religious groups are to develop love of God, be compassionate to all living entities and promote world peace, this is the standard of real superiority and leadership.

No.
It is OK as it is.
I think that this site is great.
There are so many varied beliefs and non beliefs and out and out rebellious people here.
Some resort to grossness, some try to resort to intelligence.
Some are just looking for answers.
Some like to be disagreeable.
Some are haters, some are just themselves.
There are the various religions represented here but not all of them.
I don't think it is well enough known.
We should tell people it exists.
Come on down!

If only you would read your Bible you would know that these wars are part of the prophecies contained in it. Genesis 16-27 and Matthew 24 The waring factions in middle east have to do with the stories in Genesis while wars in general have to do with Matthew 24

This website is supposedly for faith and spirituality yet a useless ringer for in some church homes, if one has a diverse perspective, some human beings commence appearing a fool. I agree, we are meant to ask inquiries to get a more effective information. the idea of information is suggested via the Bible.

The spirituality is of God, the stupidity is from human nature rejecting God.
