Which Baptist church? There are a lot of different kinds of Baptists. The Southern Baptists seem like pretty decent folks, not nearly as extremist as some would portray them. I'm more wary of so-called "independent" baptists - sometimes these little groups can be very extreme and especially anti-Catholic.

I am an Agnostic, but I will still go to different churches to observe and learn. So I have been to a few diff. baptist churches I have liked the small ones where everyone knows everyone and they really care about you. I have also been to large baptist churches and I hated it. I just felt like I was lost and didn't feel any connection to anyone.

I grew up in the Baptist Church. I love the way everyone there REALLY sings. I love the way they know the Bible and love Jesus.
I really don't love the way that they are intolerant of the views of others. I didn't love the way in Sunday school they taught us what was wrong with other religions, and as I later learned a lot of that information was very inaccurate.
So, in short, I love Baptists, I just disagree with a lot of their teachings (especially Once Saved Always Saved).

I think they are too legalistic. They don't allow for the Holy Spirit to influence people. I don't like the charismatics either. They get all too emotional and don't have sound Biblical teaching whereas the Baptists do. There needs to be a third option.
I like the Vineyard. They are the cross between the two. You may find them at www.vineyardusa.org or com or something like that.
Check them out near you. They are world wide and I am healing there from the ravages of life. It is a caring and compassionate church.

A Catholic priest passed into the Kingdom and was met by St. Peter, who was giving him a tour of Heaven. They came close to a hedge, and the sound of a beautiful choir could be heard on the other side. "Quick!," said St Peter, "Duck down!" The priest and St Peter crept along the hedge bent over. "Why are we doing this?" the priest ask. "The music and the voices are so beautiful." St. Peter answered, "Yes, they are, aren't they? But, those are the Baptists, and they don't know you're here yet."

They have good points, but it is not the religion for me. I don't see anything wrong with the Baptist Church.

I went to one when I was a kid for a couple of years. I liked the youth outings they were really fun. I liked youth camp. The people were really nice. The preaching was too legalistic. But overall it was ok.

Indifferent. There are some true and good Baptists but I felt it was wrong for me.

I'll call it a friendly rivalry. I have a problem with the finer points of their theology, but I'd rather concentrate on the similarities that we have and enjoy worshiping with my fellow Christians.
