Absolutely. Many US aircraft and ships, not just the F-16s, are nuclear-capable.

That is correct, the airplane will use a laser guided bomb with a nuclear tip. They actually come in all sizes, relatively low yield of about 1 kilo ton, to pretty big like 15 kilo ton. 15 kilotons was about what was used on Hiroshima.
The USAF has also Stealth fighters, B1-B bombers, and a stealth bomber. Lets not even talk about the U-2 spy planes.
In addition the Navy has submarines in europe, or in the waters off europe and the persian gulf with up to 16 nuclear warheads on each sub. Its called an SSBN...
The F-16s are capable of dropping bombs, and fast to get away from the explosion, however a B1-B would probably be used since its radar resistant, not like the f-16.

I really hate that term "WMD." NBC( Nuc,BIo,Chem) weapons is more acturate. Just about all weapons systems have a limited nuclear capability. The F-16 is not a prefered platorm however. Tac nuclear is usualy left to the Navy or Air Force bombers. We have small Tactical Nuclear weapons however in development to destroy hard targets like deep mountian bunkers or facilties. With the end of the Cold war in Europe, most nuclear weapons have been withdrawn for the lack of need & disarmament aggreements.

The Pentagon usually doesn't issue bulletins to the American people on what they have at military bases. Call them up and ask them. Ask for the general in charge of F-16s.
