A mortal sin is a grave sin done with full knowledge and consent. If you have committed a serious sin, knowing full well that it has separated you from God, and you die without repenting, then you have decided that heaven is not the place for you. So, if in the end your choice is to be separated from God, there is no place for you other than hell.

It's not so much confessing (I assume you mean confessing to a priest) but refusing to repent before death. That can send you to Hell.
The normal mode for the forgiveness of mortal sins is through the Church, through confession (see John 20:20-23). The notion that we can just confess our sins privately to God is not biblical. Jesus doesn't say "just tell me that you're sorry." Instead he gives the power to forgive and retain sins to his ministers, the apostles and their successors. Sins are forgiven by Jesus, but Jesus' forgiveness is administered by the Church. The Church is the body of Christ and when you sin, you sin against the whole body. You return to the body for forgiveness.
But if, through no fault of their own, a person couldn't receive sacramental confession and was about to die, if they sincerely repented of their sins, they will be forgiven. While people are bound by the sacraments, God is not.
If they refuse God's grace and don't repent, then it's not gonna be pretty. However, except for a few exceptions like Judas and maybe Nero, we can never know for certain if a person has died in a state of unrepentant mortal sin. Someone could always make a last-minute perfect act of contrition known only to God. So that's why we ask God for mercy and pray for those who have died and never declare that a particular person is in Hell.

If your born again and Saved (sealed with the Holy Spirit) you will not, however your fellowship with God or relationship will be broken. It will affect your spiritual joy for example and blessings, divine protection, etc.
If you are not a believer it doesnt matter if you do or do not confess a mortal sin, however it shows you want to know God and someday accept his son Jesus - The Way, the Truth, and the Life.

If a person does not allow Jesus to pay the price for His sin then that person will go to hell. It does not matter what kind of sin it is. Either you have Jesus and are on your way to heaven or you do not have Jesus and you are on your way to hell. Let me ask you this: Do you have Jesus? By that I mean, have you confessed that He is your Lord and Savior and have you personally invited Him into your life to be your boss and have control?

Well, as long as you are a born again Christian, you're good. Don't use that as an excuse though. And what exactly do you see as a "mortal sin"? As far as I know, there are sins, and that's it. None are better or worse than others.

A mortal sin is, by definition, one that kills the soul. Hence, "burning in hell" = "never going beyond our native narcissism" is the condition of any person who clings to any particular sin. Its "enormity", humanly speaking, is not the issue; the issue is our clinging to it, like a Linus' blanket, and refusing to "give it up" - to go or grow beyond it.

Yes he/she lives in hell on earth, because he/she has to live with themselves. Knowing that you did wrong its self takes away the peace of mind. It constantly come back to you saying you did not do right. You create hell within! The more you repress the more poison it creates within you. only a flowing river has fresh water, a stagnant water is impure. It is best to confess than to hold on to a lie.

The only sin that will exclude you from Heaven is rejecting Christ as your savior. If you believe that God is, that Jesus is God who was born, died for your sins and rose again, and that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, you will be saved.

If Jesus is your Lord and Savior you will never go to hell. If a person habitually commits sin, however, then it is evidence that he/she has never been saved in the first place.

it all depends on what you believe. I dont believe in heaven or hell but if you do and you go by what the christians believe you just need to ask jesus and god for forgiveness and you will be forgiven...if your request is truely from your soul.
