When you ask God to take care of a problem do you really let it go or do you keep fretting and worrying?

IF not, what do YOU do to let it go and let God be God and handle the problem?

There's always a tendency to ask God to take care of a problem and then continue to fret and worry about the problem. I suppose it has a lot to do with being told as a child, "You can do it. Pick up your toys, put your shoes on, you're a big girl, do it for yourself. You made the mess, you clean it up". And as we mature we learn that we are in charge, it's up to us to take care of ourselves, we're responsible for our own decisions, choices, consequences. We know we need God but then we remember our training to "clean up" after ourselves so we worry.
When I do this, I pray again....forgive me God for taking this problem back when I know YOU can do a much better job than I can....I give this to You again and I will wait for You." Sometimes I have to do this several times. I even visualize me taking my problem to the foot of the cross and laying it down there and walking away. I do this until I feel peace flood my spirit.

Depends on the size of the problem. If the problem is not too serious, then yes, I can just give it to God and have faith that He will take care of it. When I lost my job a few years ago, I was extremely bummed and could not so easily hand over that problem to Him and not continue to worry about the situation. With that said though, the only time I felt peace about the situation was when I was in prayer to Him. Othertimes, otherwise, I was feeling pretty miserable.

This is a hard task for me. I'm not a control freak, but it is hard holding true to surrendering all. I constantly worry about finding a job and how it makes me look not having a job or if I get a minimum paying job how I might get looked down upon. I know these say a lot about how I might look at others in this position, so, I try not to worry too much with my faith remaining in Him with constant prayers for others in this position also. I try to fill up a lot of my time reading the Bible learning what I still don't know. God bless and I hope this might help you.

This is a great question.. if I have doubts, nothing gets resolved. But as soon as I have total trust and faith, and put it all in his hands.. Let me tell you an example...
When I was married, after a few years, we were ready to have a baby..and I had a hard time getting pregnant. Most of my life, I just wanted to have kids. I was sooo discouraged. But, no big deal, we were going to adopt instead. After 2 years of depression and struggle to even adopt I finally gave up. It just occurred to me.. I said to God "God? I know you did not give me these maternal instincts for nothing, and I know you did not intend for me to never have kids, so it is in your hands now":.. and ya know what? I really did put it in his hands, I stopped worrying, stopped trying, I was happy, because I just knew that God would do what I felt he would do. In less than six months, I was pregnant ...,.you have to give all into him.. You can't have any doubts... Now there are times when I put things in his hands, and I have doubts, those are harder. So I am a firm believer that you have to remove all doubt.. 100% faith.. and that is hard to do. Because we are afraid that 100% will cost us something.. and it just might.. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION... I do really let go and let Got take control... :) And I have never regretted it yet..

Why? Where in the Bible does it say that?

Think of the parable of the talents: the Master has TRAINED his stewards to make use of their talents, and to grow the investment. That meant deal w/ problems that arose.

Think of the sending out of the 70, Jesus gave them authority and expected them to DO things.

Often we are called to DO things. That's called "obedience".

"Let Go and Let God" is a trite cliche that isn't Biblical and frankly is so vague that it's meaningless.

Faith is like a muscle that must be exercised to develop. We learn to put the problem at the foot of the cross and let go of it. It takes practice and becomes easier over time.

Great question!

You just have to remember God is sending us through trials. you can use them to break away from God or you can use them to grow in faith. I pray to the Lord for my daily sustenance. remember that you have to work out your problems but pray for the strength to get through them. God will always help then!

this is a daily struggle of laying down your cross and following HIM. It is the hardest, yet most rewarding thing. Of course we are human and we pick the things back up, but that is why I am so thankful for Grace!!
