Five points are deducted every time you ask a question. You get 2 points for answering a question, 1 point each day for signing in, and 10 points if your answer is chosen as the Best.
If you're not getting your points for answering, write to the Yahoo Answers team and have them see what's going on.
So my suggestion is answer the maximum number of questions that you can each day. Put some thought into your answers, and try to make them interesting so that people will choose them as Best. And if you're going to ask a -5 point question, make sure it's something that you really need an answer to.
Just hang in there, keep answering questions, and you'll get to Level 2 sooner than you thought.

Try to answer as many questions as you can each day. Make them good answers, so hopefully they'll be chosen as "best answers". You have to grab enough points before you become level 2. Good luck!
