I am not sure how to answer this. In some cases, new meds are what is needed. If you over dosed and slit your wrist, they should not have released you from the hospital. If you think that you will try again, flush the pills and have yourself admitted to a mental facility. Its the only sure way to stay alive

Don't dispare, I struggled with depression for a long time, slit my wrists, took overdoses ended up struggling and using drugs and drink as an escape. Incidentally I also suffer from IBS. Eventually I ended up in hospital for 2 months after having delusional thoughts after an illicit drugs overdose.
I decided that in the end prescription drugs, drinking and illegal drugs weren't helping so i decided to help myself. I bought self help books, changed my diet, realised that the way i was thinking was wrong and for every depressing thought i would think of something positive. Over time i got better i still have ups and downs but i can deal with what life throws at me without becoming suicidal!
You will get through this, in the future you will realise it has made you a stronger person. If you are worried about the treatment you have been given speak up straight away and speak with your GP or someone you can trust

Doctors get money for dishing these tablets out, the best way to beat depression is by doing it yourself.
Try thinking of what you would like to do with your life that would make you realy happy, try doing as many things that make you happy as possible, and dont do harm to your body because the horrid depression is your enemy !!
You are better than depression get the fcuk out of it, beat it dont let it beat you......
You will have to ween yourself off of the tablets, doing good things for others might be good, maybe volenteer work in another part of the world working for oxfam or an aid agency, i saw a volenteer job working in the rain forrest for a research project.
Dont take what the docs say, tablets dont do the buisness especialty not in the long term.
Im no expert but, i know the only way to realy beat depression is for you to beat it youself dont let it fcuking destroy you.
May take a couple of years but once you get through it and out the other side, life will be soo much better for it and it will make you stronger from the experience. The only person to beat it is you.

Im sorry that your going through hell. I have a close freind that suffers with depression. I cant believe that the doctors gave you so much medication especially after what happened. When my freind left hospital he had a community mental health worker on his case.. she visits him weekly and he is given only enough tablets to last a week. Have they refurred you to a psycologist / psychiatrist or anything? (Dont be scared of by them, its job to listen to your problems and try and help you resolve them) Its no use the doctors just giving you drugs, that doesent solve the underlying problem. If I were you, I would make an appointment with your doctor again and ask to be refered to a specialist. Tell them that you want to be assigned a support worker. Bring a family member or freind for moral support as doctors can fob you off sometimes (my freind was told to pull himself together!). ask if you can be given a prescription weekly..It will help you monitor what you have taken and what you have left. Hope this helps. Good luck! :)
Take all the help you can get and if their is no one around to help call the samaritans or get advice from nhs direct 08454647

I'm so sorry you're feeling like this at the moment. If I can suggest anything; I have also dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts, and so has a very close friend of mine. We somehow pulled each other out of it, but now we both carry the number for the Samaritans on our mobiles - just in case. Good luck, and I really hope you feel better soon.

I would like to tell you this..
i am glad you are ok.
The best way is to heal yourself, by getting your mind right.
Hundreds of pills have too many side effects, and it takes longer to heal.
Whatever caused you to do this cannot be more important than the fact that the sun will shine for you again in the long run maam...but only if you stay alive.
just don't make the darkness last longer than it really is...
Chances are very good that in a while, you could be very happy , with just memories of what happened to you, and not many regrets.
The grass is always greener elsewhere too, becuase there is usually more 'manure' there anyway ...go for life...
Regards.

I dont mean to be rude, i apoligise if it appears that way...
But maybe you should stop relying on the anti d's as people can grow a dependacy on them.
Go to your doctors or hospital and ask for proper help... If u are going as far as attempted suicide then something is a miss and you need to see a 'different kind' of doctor.
Sorry to be blunt....
Hope you get the help you need... Get Well Soon XX

Maybe new meds are a good thing, but it sounds like you needed more support, perhaps from the psychs or from your gp, maybe they should have seen you each week and given you a new prescription each time, insead of giving a months worth all at once. Have you ever tried counselling.
Anyway I'm glad that you are doing better, theres no magic cure and its going to take time for you to get better. Good Luck.

Go to the local church volunteer and involve yourself with some retreats. Meet people and open up. Remember you have a situation, the person with a serious problem is on their dying bed. Get friends and change the floks in your inner circle.
