It seems that all I want to do is eat all the time, I am trying to get in shape to become a police officer, but can't when I have people at work stuffing food in my face all the time. How can I curb food cravings.

Stay busy. If you have something better to think about, you'll think less about food.

Plus keep your mind on your goal. You have to remind yourself that this is something YOU want for yourself, then ask your friends NOT to stuff food in your face because they are sabotaging your effort. Friends don't push their friends to be fat!

I also find that if I stay completely away from carbs, I don't crave them and have the strength to not touch them, but if I cheat, even just a little, I start to crave more. That's not true for everyone, but I know I'm not the only one like that, so you may need to stay completely away to pull it off.

Do NOT drink soda. Even diet soda increases food cravings. There's evidence it messes with serotonin uptake and insulin, making people crave more soda, and more junk food.

Drink water, unsweetened teas and flavored waters. They're better for you anyhow.

Don't keep snacky foods in the house. You'll still have the cravings, but you won't be able to do anything about it. That means, no crackers or chips or candy or desserts (except for healthy ones that require prep time). Keep lots of veggies in the house - you'll be a lot less likely to oversnack if all you have is carrot sticks and raisin bran, and you'll be a lot less likely to fix yourself extra meals if they require preparing lean chicken breast and cutting up veggies for a salad. If you want to actually rid yourself of the cravings themselves, it takes time and a change of diet. A sugar / fat addiction is very real and tough to kick without discipline. Someone trying to curb cigarette cravings would be an idiot to keep cigarettes in the house, and someone trying to curb food cravings would be an idiot to keep potato chips or tootsie rolls around. Speaking of cigarettes, if you take up smoking, you will curb food cravings fast. But that will bring a host of new problems that I'm sure you don't need.
