The way I see it, the towns where the illegal immigrants are invading are not upper or even middle class towns.

If you already live in a poor neighborhood, most likely your children aren't getting a good education anyway and there probably is already a lot of crime, because lets face it, most crimes take place in lower class neighborhoods.

If you dislike them so much, why don't move to a nicer neighborhood? Because from the looks of it, the government is gonna do sh*t.

I guess I could be wrong, but most illegal immigrants can't afford to come into the nice neighborhoods of our country anyway, right?

If illegal immigrants can't afford middle class housing, then the 1/3 of the population below the poverty line should move to accomodate them.............. I don't see the logic. Besides, I know of a portion of Saint Louis that is full of immigrants. The homeowners are usually legal, but their relatives aren't. They have beautiful homes, big cars, and the latest tech...... by your logic, if I don't like living next to them, I need to move to a better neighborhood away from them....... Well, I don't want to move, first. And Second, I can't afford the lifestyle that most of them enjoy, I have to work for a living.

And Angela, what have you done for New Orleans? I spent my Spring vacation helping with cleanup. I also sent cell phone care packages to the soldiers in Iraq. I helped out with both situations in any way I could. Maybe each American should take a big slice of the responsibilty pie and stop putting it all on the "Big Bad" Government

Good argument. Maybe a debating class might be something to take in the future.

That does not excuse people breaking our laws. The poor people living in neighborhoods in the US are here LEGALLY, and then the "poor illegal immigrants" come to town, driving down property values because they can't afford to make improvements on the stuff they "own", or can't afford to pay what they need to for housing (a family of five should hardly live in a one bedroom).

So what you are telling us all is that because the Americans and people here legally are POOR they don't DESERVE to live next to someone that ISN'T breaking the law?

And your reasoning that the poor don't have good education anyways, so why should they care if the little bit of tax dollars they receive should be spread even thinner to be used to educate even more poorly their children as well as the children that have parent's that don't even pay taxes to assist with education? So the same amount of money that is there for the education of the 20 legal students in that class has to pay for the education of the 45 in the class because "they are poor to begin with"? Of course their education is poor - illegal immigrants are bankrupting their education systems simply because they are in the poor part of town.

I think things are going to happen, because according to the polls, more Americans support getting the illegal immigrants out of this country than the Americans that want them to stay. So I am thinking the government will come around. So again, your plan and reasoning is foiled.

Maybe they can't afford it because its a vicious cycle that these children are living in. They are not getting the right education so they go to low paying jobs or no jobs a life of crime.

We should start educating and putting some effort into these poor communities for making society better as whole.

Pass your 'love' on to Congress, there...and there's no reason to let neighborhoods go downhill just because of incompetent politicians...write your city council about the problem, too, chances are they're already aware of it, but maybe they can put you to work fixing things up a bit, the whole 'broken window' business...

I have to agree with you.....

They are not invading those uppity neighborhoods because they are too busy building them.....

The reason we have poor neighborhoods is because we are too busy building and invading Iraq.....Look at New Orleans.....Not much assistance from our govt., its only a political football. That should have been a priority. But too many corrupt politicians are involved.

Poor people will always be ignored by this govt. because they have no real representation in this govt. The govt. only caters to those with money and who vote.....Sad but true....
