You are an I/T professional, is that according to the education standards of your country? That is an issue as well, when you come here illegally, and you have a professional degree from you home country. If you are coming from a South American country say like Mexico with this degree, it is not the same as an North American degree in that same field. The requirements from country to country differ, and you will need more education according to North American standards to get a job in that field. Maybe you feel that it is not fair. Is it fair for you to get that job when you do not have the education to do the job, while someone who is qualified does not get the job. This is purely hypothetical. I do not know what your qualifications are, they maybe top of the line, if that is the case that is wonderful. But then I would have to question why you are having difficulty finding a job in your home land.

If you are any good, I am sure you can get a job anywhere you wish. Have you tried to apply for jobs in other countries (Japan would love you). Companies pay well for good techs, and they will assist you with what you need if they hire you.
Go on the internet. Look in the "help wanted" sections instead of going on the immigration section of Yahoo Answers for a job. That may be where the starving thing comes into play.

A LIKELY story...Mexico does have an economy, figure out how to 'plug in' to it...if you can program a computer, and you're unemployed in a country with a 1 trillion dollar GDP(Mexico), well, what can I say...you need to learn how to use a search engine, or something, there...there's this thing called 'the internet', you've heard of it? ;)

Canada is giving out permanent residency for qualified professionals.
Look for the Canadian Consulate in your town in Mexico and they can help you with the details.
