You must have hit ADD, and added this to your personal dictionary.
With Microsoft Word, look through the help section for "Add, delete, or edit words in a custom dictionary" It should say something like this:
- - - - Microsoft Word HELP
Add, delete, or edit words in a custom dictionary
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling & Grammar tab.
Click Dictionaries.
Select the dictionary you want to edit. Make sure you do not clear its check box.
Click Edit.
Add, delete, or edit the words in the custom dictionary.
If you're typing words, press ENTER after each word to put it on a separate line.
When you finish editing, click Save on the Standard toolbar.
On the File menu, click Close.

From Word, go to Tools > Options menu. Go to the Spelling and Grammar tab in the window that comes up. Check the box for "Check spelling as you type" and save the settings. Reopen the doc if it doesn't take affect right away.

As you did not give the version, I can only give you specfics for Word 2003. If you have an early version it should be close to this:
Go into Word
Click on Tools
Select Options
Go to the Spelling and Grammer Tab
Check the box that says "Check Spelling while Typing"
