A whole holiday and only ONE item?? Hmmm... I would need something that could do anything and get me anywhere and do anything I needed it... TOILET PAPER!! You can do so much! With a bit of water and some freezing you could make a car, a suitcase, a toothbrush, solid gold underpants! Anything! Or, if I couldn't bring that, it would be some string, who doesn't need string!? I could use it as currency in poorer countries and climb mountains in them damn mountainous countries like Australia or something like that!

as I have been travelling that long, I will tell you a few things you need:
- a bloody comfortable rucksack
- a special kind of chain made out of twisted wire rope that you criss-cross around your rucksack and secure it with padlocks (you can also use this to secure your rucksack to the train seat etc. if you are sleeping)
- a first aid kit
- a torch
- a plastic wallet (fully waterproof ziplock) to keep all your important papers in
- a money belt
- clothes that you can layer up and down depending on weather
- your wits & common sense

Good luck!

Bikinis; but don't take too many unecessary things. In two years you will buy lots of things, and when you are coming back you wanna take them all with you.

Would have to be my ipod, there is nothing worse then going away and having to listen to unknown music on the local radio, I love my music and would be lost without it.
