i think F stands for fail, hence the F. A,B,C,D,......you Fail

What got here approximately grew to become into, that E generated various misunderstanding, the two as an excellence grade and as a fail grade. A and F made greater sense. Some E graders were so embarrassingly low percentage-wise that it was changed to just F for failed. That way the student never knew they had a very low % mark.

It's because the letter "F" as a grade is an abbreveation for "Fail", where as "A","B","C", and "D" are not abbreviations...I have no idea if that really is why but it sounds good at least...hehehe

There never was an "E" grade. That's just the way it goes.

My school doesn't even have F it's A,B,C,D,E
