Preacher, read Acts. chp. 2, it started that day after Peter's speech after he was filled with the Holy Spirit, the "Comforter" as Jesus called Him. Before that Peter was a scared bunny suffering from his humiliation of denying Christ and fear of being caught by the Romans.

Jesus Christ founded only one church, the church which was called Catholic since the early 2nd century, and called Roman Catholic since the 15th century, by Protestants.
The Catholic church cononized the Bible and converted the world for Christ long before the first Protestant ever had a chance to nail a thesis.
The Catholic church is the only church that was founded by Christ on the apostle Peter, the Rock, who was the first of a long and uninterrupted line of popes.
Penetecost was simply the official "kick-off", courtesy of the Holy Spirit.

No this was mot the Roman church. It did not come into existence until much later.
Just a side note-if three thousand were added to the church at Jerusalem then the church that Jesus built must have been in existence prior to this day. Maybe it was formed during Jesus' ministry? Think about it.
The roman catholic church did not come into being until the rule of Constantine and he united the roman church with the roman empire thus making the roman catholic church.

The Christian church began with Jesus.
The Roman Catholic Church began with Constantine. There was nothing of religion in Constantine's move to make Christianity the national religion. It was a political move...nothing more, and nothing less.
And we see what happens when we mix politics and religion!!
