how should i act around him?

this guy is the one i asked out before i talked to and he said no of course and he avoided me, but lately (a summer later) he's been talking to me, but not much. and he finds out im "over him" by one of my friends who totally didn't know i wasn't over him and THEN he talks to me a lot yet doesn't look at me hardly, he looks down at his hands and messes with them and when he does look at me he gets all shy.

im wondering if he likes me now b/c "you don't know what you got till its gone"

and if so, how do i talk to him... like flirty? or hard to get? or just my normal girlnextdoor type?

Well, try the flirty thing and see what happens.
If he reciprocates, then go ahead and keep doing the flirty thing WHILE being yourself. Don't pretend to be someone you're not.

If he doesn't reciprocate, stop the flirty thing and just be friends with him if you can.

I vote normal girlnextdoor self... maybe he has feelings he doesn't quite understand and he is sorting them out. Acting any other way may just confuse things.

You should just act like he's a guy friend and then if he starts to show serious signs that he likes you then make your move and talk to him, if he doesn't seem like he likes you then he will feel much more comfortable around you because you just acted like a friend towards him, not a nice girl who makes him nervous.
