Stop using commercial shampoo, or better still stop using shampoo all together.

If you look on the back of your shampoo bottle I will bet that one of the ingredients is sodium laurel sulfate, there are other harmful or irritating chemicals within commercial shampoos however this tends to be a high cause of dandruff like symptoms. Sodium laurel sulfate is used purely to make the product foam; this is also a skin and eye irritant.

You might want to try avoiding commercial shampoos, instead going for more natural options – some shampoos that claim to be natural still have this and other potentially irritating ingredients in, so be careful to read the ingredients. Something like shampoo from Neal's Yard or Faith in Nature would be perfect, many health stores sell safer shampoo brands or even their own mixes made with essential oils – including things like lavender or tea tree oil that would deal with any possibly fungal problems that may cause dandruff and ease itching and assist in skin healing to prevent flaking.

Making your own shampoo is another option, or you can go one step further and not use shampoo at all – there are lots of reasons to go shampoo free in terms of health risks, but in short poo-free means healthier hair, less dandruff, easier to manage, doesn't need washing as often. Poo-free for curly hair just involves missing out the shampoo and only using conditioner, for straighter hair it involved using baking soda rather than shampoo and then a apple cider vinegar rinse – the vinegar will also help with any possible fungal problems causing the dandruff.

I know I personally get dandruff like crazy after using anything with sodium laurel sulfate in, I can't go shampoo-free unfortunately but I love the Faith in Nature Seaweed shampoo and conditioner, if I have stupidly used commercial shampoo at a friends my local health store does a wonderful tea tree and rosemary shampoo that works miracles.

Well there's two ways you can deal with it, firstly from the outside with Neutrogena T-gel ( quite good ) and Some good grade T-tree oil.

Secondly from the inside, try taking some supplements rich in essential fatty acids Omega 3 and 6 for example Flaxseed oil
Hope this helps, good luck!
