How much will it cost to get both my girl and boy chihuahuas fixed? I thought about them breeding but from what Ive learned I now know why people charge so much for their puppies and I do not want either of them to get hurt or die from complications!! I do not want to put my babies into danger so if anyone could give me a ball park figure on both of them I would greatly appreciate it!

Depends on the Vet. Some communities have very inexpensive spaying / neutering to help with unwanted pups. Call your local Humane Society and then can give you some good recommendations.

I think almost any vet would do them both for between & $100.00 and $ 150.00. However, many clinics will chanrge much less. Some even charge on a sliding scale. You know, Chihuahuas are very popular now. If you contact some reputable clubs they may be willing to do the procedures for free. Just be sure to check with the BBB and some local animal orginizations to make absolutely sure the place you pick is reputable and caring. Good Luck ! Thom

Depends on the vet....some times veterinarians participate in Spray a Pet program. Which means it will be like half price or even free. I know in my area, my animal shelter offers it done for like 25.00....they have a vet. Here is what I suggest to you.
1.call around your local veterinarians or near by cities...ask for the prices and write them down.
2. after you have called then write down the cheapest one
3. call your local animal shelter and see if they do it or if they have any programs that offer it half price or free. Good luck, its good that you thought it through before just breeding your dogs, not many people do that. They think, I got a purebred dogs, I can make money! And go ahead and breed them without thinking throught the conquences....

It will depend on the area you live in but it can be anywhere from $55 for the male and $85 for the female on up. Many humane socirties offer spay/neuter clinics or vouchers to help towards the surgery.

The cost of spay/neuter is very inexpensive comapred to the costs of emergency care that can be incrued during breeding/whelping, etc. or from cancer and infections.

Well, when I adopted my puppies from the Humane Society, fixing them was required... umm... I am not sure how much it costs... The cost of spaying and neutering is far less than you would spend getting a litter of puppies all their shots. It is less than paying for surgery for testicular tumors or treating a uterine infection. The cost of neutering is far less than having to patch up your male who tried to cross a busy street to get at an unspayed female. I have known males to try and cross six lane highways! The cost of spaying or neutering is less than having you carpets cleaned because your dog is marking his territory or your female spotted on your beige rug.

Humane Society is your best bet. Ours is beautifully priced and they are wonderful. they usually base it on weight. Our local humane society spayed my cat for 120 and that also was with all her vacinations too. I am getting my boxer fixed next week haven't found out the price yet just set the apt. good luck...
