Without good reason, divorce is a serious wrong. There are times though that for reasons of protecting one's physical and emotional health that separation of spouses is necessary. Furthermore, if divorce can provide some financial/legal protection then it is acceptable, keeping in mind that in the eyes of God you are still married and not free to enter into a new marriage because that would constitute adultery.

Marriage between a man and a women is a promise to God. That no matter what they will stay together, sickness and health rich and poorer, etc. Adultery is the only reason in God's eyes to leave this commitment. But I still think He really hates divorce. I believe He hopes forgiveness and love will break through in all marriages. :)

What is a "good" reason then? Who can tell me what's a good reason or not? What is a stupid reason for me might be a good reason for you.
And mortal sin?! what is that? Is someone gonna come after me because I divorced? I might me devistated, my family might not like it. But mortal?! Come on...

According to the Bible there is only one cause for divorce and that is adultery..anything else causes sin for both the man and the woman in the marriage.

Leaving out the mortal part....of course its a "sin".....a promise is your word. Breaking it is wrong. It is honor-less and hurts someone who loves you.
