I don't mean that I find someone who's otherwise unattractive hot cos she smokes. I mean if she's hot anyway, it just adds that little bit of mystery/danger/something I can't quite place..

Yeah it can be quite cool !
And when shes so hot and the relationship is new it really doesn't matter.
But if you don't smoke, and I speak from experience over time kissing an ashtray can have a relationship go downhill. The intimate kissing stops or fades, and no longer becomes very pleasurable. Before you know it the sex life slides. You wonder what i would be like to kiss the lips of somebody that isn't smoking. You love this person but it's clearly not working.
So it may look sexy but in my world the reality is that smoking isn't. For me hot and sexy is a woman who is fit and athletic who does healthy things in a naughty way.

Not the last guy in the world. I understand that there are three others, but one of them is dying of lung cancer from secondhand smoke, so soon there will only be two others. One of them is in South Africa, one in SE Asia, and the other somewhere in Appalachia - that's the one who's on life support.
To get a bit more serious (ahem), if you really care about somebody, you should not encourage her to smoke. (If all you want to do is get in her pants and dump her, you're pond scum anyway.) And if you end up with this person as a life partner, you'll have to put up with everything stinking, and then there's the incessant coughing, and then watching her get really sick and die. It sure ain't hot to watch somebody you care about cough her guts out.

wow i've met guys turned off by me for smoking, i've met guys that don't care but i've never met a guy who is turned on by my smoking!
