This is one for boys and girls: why do men ask how many men have you slept with and what is the best answer to give?

I have been with over 800 girls in my life & i'm only 38. Most girls tell me that they have slept with only 2 men before me. I just laugh inside coz it's the most common answer most guys get, even if i know her whole sex history & i know that she sleeps with 2/week, still any girl would say " JUST 2 BEFORE U " !!! Why girls like to say just 2...beats me.

Best to avoid the issue and concentrate on the guy your with.
I'm a guy and if I was discussing this this somebody I wasn't going to be with forever I would be ok with anything she said. In fact the more the better.
If I was with somebody I wanted to be with for life (hoping she could be the one etc), it could open up all sorts of insecurities for me and I'm a pretty level headed guy. These would not be about the past but about the future and whether she would remain faithful or want to remain faithful once the initial crazy romantic phase has lapsed. I may also be more worried about hygenine now and in the future if the number was high.
It's an issue that I think needs to be handled very carefuly with a lot of respect for the person you are communicating with.

TWO!!!! Well Id have loved to be honest that id slept with four but 2 seemed just about right. I had met my current boyfriend and he asked me and i even felt horrible for lying to him but trust me it was the best thing i did for myself. Later on we talked about it and i was asking him what was acceptable to men and he said 2 is for a serious relationship, 3 is questionable and anything above 4 is 'bang and leave'. It was good I hadnt told the whole truth but it sort of haunts me time to time but i have learnt to deal with it.
My advice is if its little, tell him but if its a bit much, avoid the question or tell half the truth, every little helps....

Men want to know because they need to know if your sexually experienced and will know if their crap in bed!
Apparently men double the true amount of women they have slept with and women half it....then half it again sometimes!
If the relationship is early on then some people will judge you by the amount of people you have slept with - whether that is a lot or a little.
Tell them the truth if you feel comfortable.....

i think a best answer should leave the guy to thinkin a little more..

some kind of sad competition that is for the guys that are sad enough to ask that. id rather have someone that hasnt slept around at all and is a virgin!! what a horrible thought of comparing lovers (shaggers is a better word). theres nothing clever about doing loads of people and it doesnt make anyone more attractive!! with regards to my first time, we can both have fun making the mistakes together on our honeymoon (once ive found my lady)!!

What ever you say dont say 'why does it matter?', its a basically your partner showing that they are insecure in the fact that you might have had more experience than them and better lovers than them. Try either reversing the question on them (then pick a number a few below if you've had more), or 'none that compare to you', cheesy I know but his ego will have had a quick massage and he might drop it. More than Britney less than Madonna was always a good 1 but I think its a bit out dated now Britneys trailer trash!

there is no wrong or right answer wat ever is the truth just half it, and men just want you to tell them they are so good so they want it to be a few to be able to compare to, but if its too many then you look like a slag and they know that they aint gonna be the best out of ten so thats when they do the runna.... anyway never talk about ex's give to much ammo during heated debates

I believe a decent guy wouldn't ask you that ...a guy with an agenda may.
it's a question i would not answer depending on who it is and especially NOT on a first date bases........ it's personal and would only share that delicate piece of info with a person who I care about and want to have in my life.
so you be honest and say I rather not answer that question right now . You determine how much you share after he responds.
