I repeat they love dogs and are harmless they want one and the dog will be in a great home with a HUGE backyard and access to the house...so it wont be "totured".

Wait till thier a little older, then get one that is very child friendly. You're cousin will be entertained and will have a best friend. :)

If they are old enough to want a dog, chances are they are old enough to have one. Maybe not a puppy, though; how about a dog from the pound that has a reputation for being good with children? Most large dogs are; they treat the children as their own puppies, and guard them and are very tolerant of them. A pound dog needs to be watched closely at first, as some have been abused or neglected, and may not know how to behave. But if you get a puppy, get a somewhat older one, or be prepared to watch it when its with the children until it is well trained.

It depends on how old they are because a dog might not understand that a baby´s tugging in the dogs ear is curiosity and therefore might play a bit too violently with the child. If they are older then it might not be a problem as the dog won´t be much of a hazard to the kids, I suggest a labrador in any case as they are very affectionate and are good with kids.

The fist question is how old is your baby cousin and I don't think a dog nor a cat would be good because little kids tend to pull on their tails and pick them up the wrong way and the puppy may not like that and try to bite.

Great! Having pets is a great way to teach children responsibility! Just be sure to get one that is low maintenance and great with kids. Good Luck!

Depends on your feelings towards animals. If you like to see them tortured its a great idea. Otherwise, think about it before you ask such a ridiculously stupid question.
