It ate a bait covered treble hook that went to it's stomach, he dropped it off at the vet, do you think it will be okay or will they have to put it to sleep?

If they have the modern equipment, they can anesthetize the dog, and get the hook out using fiber-optics and an instrument without surgery...Otherwise, it would require surgery to remove the hook...

the dog should be fine, if he is otherwise healthy..but may need to recover for about 3 -4 weeks, if surgery is performed.

those trebles strengthen opportunities of catching a fish. I actually are transforming into rid of or replaced numerous trebles. each and every each and every now and then just to alter length or to function extra suited high quality hooks. whilst i'm dragging a entice on the backside I take the tummy hook off (to avert dangle-ups) and in simple terms place self belief in the only hook on actual. I even have taken trebles off the back and altered with a feathered treble or those hooks that appear like a small frog hook. a pair of hurricane lures I even have basically got here with one abdomen treble. uncertain if it alters action too plenty, yet there are circumstances as quickly as I bumped off a hook and nonetheless had a stable day of catching.

Providing it hasn't gone through his digestive track and ripped out his intestines, he should be screwed. What kind of pet owner lets his dog eat fishing hooks? The dog is better off dead with an owner like that. Tell the vet to put him down to save him from more torture from your irresponsible "friend".

Depends on the money he'll put into the care. If the hook doesn't catch anything vital, it may just mean soft food for awhile after the hook's out.

you try pushing a treble hook through your ***. would YOU be ok?

they might have to preform surgery and remove the hook before it tears to much stomach and intestinal lining. but i doubt it will have to be put to sleep.
