Hell no.

The Highland and Black Watch regiments have a long history, a proud history, and one that should not be allowed to be forgotten. Ever since Scottish regiments were part of the British forces, they have been used as shock troops and they illustrated themselves as such. To amalgamated them would be a boon on bureaucracy, and therefore cost-saving, but I think it would be an insult to the veterans from those regiments everywhere.

yes and no.
In terms of tradition, pride, history. recruitment and morale, then no.
In terms of military efficiency, and cost, then yes.

The British Army has always had to amalgamate historic regiments.

Absolutely not...the individual regiments are belonging to their own regions...why mess with tradition and history??
