There is no limit....but that's 600 miles of warranty coverage that you won't get, so make sure the price is adjusted acordingly

the car is new until someone buys it from the lot and registers it, if it has 600 miles on it that means that it has been started and test drove alot and moved around alot, i would ask the dealer to give you an oil change right away, as oil can go bad depending on time and if it gets hot while driving, if it has just been moved and not alot of time for it to get hot it would be a good idea for the oil change.. myself i would look into a different car... never know what dealers did to it, my friend worked at a used lot and sometimes ran then hard cuz the mileage didnt matter, they could also think that cuz it had 600 on it...

In the UK there has been a court case on this, but I cannot remember the outcome - I think it was held to be around 100 miles.

If a car is brought to the dealership from another area by road (unusual these days) this could happen.

Otherwise, once a car is registered, it becomes the property of the dealership who registered it and it is no longer 'new' - even if it has virtually no miles.

These cars can be good value, because the reason for registering it is to qualify for extra bonus payments (sometimes several hundreds of pounds per car), so the dealer can afford to give you a better deal.

Also, as he now owns it, his bank will have been debited for the full cost, so he will be anxious to sell it quickly.

that is a lot of miles for a new car. i bought my car with 58 miles on it and the dealer apologized for it. you should definitely discuss a price reduction

it doesn't matter how many they put on it,,if they sell it they will still give as good of warranty on it,,but it will have a few miles on it,one thing different is they will give you a big discount on it,because it is considered to be a demo model,,and you can save a lot of money on it,,good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

Cosidered new until it is registered.....you might try negotiating a "free" extended warranty to cover the miles used up........do demos might have over 5000 miles.....
