whenever i try to straitin my hair it gets all knoty! give good answers plz.

Well, first let's see if your doing the basic things first because believe it or not I know some people who aren't doing it properly. What seems obvious may not be to others.
1. Is your hair clean and DRY, not damp..needs to be thoroughly dry.
2. Comb your hair to take all the knots out.
3. Get a really good straightener. If you don't get a quality straightener you won't have great results. They are pricey but worth it. Don't get a straightener at like Wal-mart or Sav-ons. You need to get one from a Hair Salon or a Beauty supply shop. Get one that has the plates made out of ceramic. Dont get one that says ceramic coated. It makes all the difference. It runs so smooth over your hair. My old one from wal-mart didn't even compare.
4. Also, I put biosilk on my hair before I use the straightener, helps it keep shiny and smooth.

I use Loreal Vive Pro Smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Matrix sleek is good too its expensive though. Then I use frizz eaze to give it extra condition so it doesnt get knotty. Then I use a round bristle brush a very big one and a blow dryer and do it from wet. I tried a straightening iron it diddnt get it as straight and took longer than the brush and blow dryer.

Straighten!
Use a smoothing shampoo and conditioner like Pantene. Lightly spray hairspray and comb through. Blow dry straight.
Works for me and I have thick, wavy hair.

THE BEST WAY TO STRAIGHTEN HAIR REALLY STRAIGHT IS WITH AN IRON (THOSE CLOTHES IRONS) WHILE YOU ARE DOING THAT BRUSH YOUR HAIR WITH THE OTHER HAND IT IT WILL LEAVE IT REALLY STRAIGHT AND SHINY! LET ME KNOW IF U NEED KNOW HOW TO DO IT
