Don't worry, A.M. You probably know some adults who act more like kids than kids do. I warn you though, people in this forum can be really insensitive sometimes. Don't take what they say seriously unless you think it helps you.
By the way, your question wasn't stupid. People have been trying to determine what death is for a long time. A couple of years ago, there was a case that led the entire country to deal with it. A woman named Terri Schiavo had been in a persistent vegetative state, and the question of whether to allow her body to die (in the same way her brain had) led the President, Congress, the Federal and state courts and in many ways the entire country to assert their opinions about her condition. She eventually was allowed to pass away.
It's a cliche, but in truth, if they're sincere, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers. Ask the sincere questions and you'll always find someone willing to share what they know.

Are you painting all grown-ups with the same brush? You got many thoughtful answers to the original and to this question, some from grown-ups.
Strictly speaking, you shouldn't single out another user as you are doing here. The proper way to do this in this service it to click the little flag symbol and report the "answer" as Not An Answer or some other form of abuse of the guidelines.
I see she responded to this question, saying she reported you for harassment, though, as an atheist myself, I fail to see why she says your original question was insulting to atheists (or whatever she said -- I can't see it in this screen).
There's an acronym that has developed: RAMO, Report And Move On. It's good advice.
If something is really out of line, report it; either way, forget the dufi and get whatever is worthwhile from this service, and always be respectful yourself (or at least within bounds).
As for your original question: death is when life ends; no, I don't believe in souls -- thought I must admit I'm not quite sure what the word means.

You're Level 1. You'll see a lot of it. Saying 'come on, learn something' on a site that is _for asking_ questions seems more than a little preposterous, but then again judy_r8 has gotten to level 6 herself so I guess she's been able to get away with it.
Expect a minimum of 10% of your answers to be nonsense like that. When I answered your question I noticed that answer and smirked but by now I just smirk. Let them have their 2 points... Whatever, right?

The problem here is, Children lack wisdom for the most part. Children asking questions to, other children can only end with a bad result.
Life is short, have fun, be safe. Best regards.

Some people just post answers to get points. Don't mind those people. It seems to me that there are some good people on here who really like to help.
And call me a kid anyday. I would be proud of it!

I'm sorry there are lots of rude people out there. You'll see more and more of them. Just remember not everyone is like that and you don't have to be either. Be proud of who you are, but respect others too. Even if other people don't, you're better than that.
Many blessings.

no, that person is an idiot. you asked a good question, and asked it correctly. i get lots of answers like that to my questions too. it's like,,, they think that things are a lot simpler than we're making them out to be, but they're wrong.,,, things are complex, and require complex thoughts. people like this are among the worst in my opinion., and while i wouldn't use the word "kid" to describe them, i would definitely say that your question was a lot more "grown up" then the answer you received.

Judy_r8's answer was childish, as is the one here. Does not believe in the freedom of speech either. Hate rarely shows logic.

Perhaps you hadn't noticed, there's alot of immature answers on this site.
You just have to eat the meat and spit out the bones.
Or take the wheat and burn the chaff.
Whatever you prefer.

Your skin just hasn't had enough time to grow thick enough.. Remeber we can't see your age, and another adult would just have shrugged and thought her silly. Which you should do, too.
If you get answers like that in the future, just ignore them. It's not that they have anything to contribute.
