Professor Grey is correct. Wing clipping is a safe way of gaining better control of your birds. You dont want them flying into walls, windows, toilets, or something hot on the stove. Have a professional do it.

Getting your birds wings trimmed is not only safer for the bird but will help you to establish a close relationship. The bird will learn to rely on you for transportation and therefore learn to step up onto your finger for a ride. It will still have the ability to flaps its wings and fly short distances which will prevent it from becoming injured if it should try to glide to the ground. Also, a bird with trimmed wings can be brought out of its cage to a play stand, that can be fun for both of you.
