I have braids and my hair is about a foot long. I used to wash my hair with VO5 and one day I ran out, so decided to use my sisters shampoo which is pantene pro v. And after using that I won't use another. Why is it woman's shampoo is so much better than men's? I mean the lather content was remarkable and left my hair very moisturised. Even the woman who braids my hair noticed the difference. Men's shampoo is like soap and water with scent compared to woman's shampoo? I never knew the pampering woman have with thier shampoos. I even started using the conditioner at times that my sister uses. Sheek. My question is why is woman's shampoo so much better than ours?

Woman's shampoo is better cuz our hair needs more pampering than men's hair. Our hair is more delicate and needy. When is started using pantien shampoo my hair was silky smooth and soft, and when I went to go get my hair cut the lady said that pantien is the worst kind of shampoo and conditioner there is even though it works like magic. So i threw that shampoo away and got Aussie shampoo and conditioner!! It works way better on my hair and Aussie is like the best shampoo and conditioner there is for human hair. Evry1 i know that uses Aussie ses it works the best for them!!!! Aussie is for men all so, even though it sounds girly. So if I was u I would go to Wal-Mart and buy Aussie!!!!!

As a professional hairstylist the hair market targets women and mens products are just there. Now about the Pantene the reason you liked it better was because that it has chemicals in it that coat and cover your hair it leaves a residue on each hair shaft. Now I am not saying to go out and buy some expensive shampoo, but if you are going to continue to use Pantene then you also have to buy a clarifying shampoo and use it atleast once every 2 weeks because that build up pantene leaves on your hair maybe nice and shiny but its not good for your hair. So using the clarifying shampoo it washes it out and then you can start the build up all over again. If you have any ??'s you can email me.

Unless the shampoo says for men it is for any sex. Pantene isnt a womans shampoo. Put it this way its a unisex shampoo. Most of them are. The difference in VO5 and Pantene besides the price is the quality. Always look for shampoos for whats in them. So dont feel that you are using a womans shampoo using Pantene only a better quality.

I won't use the Pantene shampoos and conditioners. They have too much wax in them, that is what makes your hair feel like it is so soft. My hair dresser warned me years ago about using too much wax in your hair, she would never suggest pantene.
Shampoos are basically the same whether they are for men or women, you just need to read the ingredients and how much % of each ingredient is in the shampoos and conditioners. Once you start comparing you will find differences in them all. Most shamppos also carry some kind of a fragrance/scent as well.

I think it all depends on your hair type and that has alot to do with how the chemicals in the shampoo make your hair feel.
I can't use pantene, i've got hair down to my rear and it leave a film on mine. But if you find one that works, be sure to use a clarifyer every so often to get any build up out of your hair.
I like the suave daily clarifying. Or Neutrogena has a clarifyer. That strips the crap off and you get a fresh start.

It usually just depends on the brand you choose. I have used American crew, this is a guys shampoo, one day when i ran out of my shampoo. It was just as good as a girls kind. It was just the same quality, just a different sent that is more for guys. Its good you found a brand you like, but I also know men that use pantene.

That's a good question. Instead of specifically buying women's shampoos, you should focus on what each one has to offer. I usually use Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions shampoo. It replenished moisture, restores silkiness and suppleness, and leaves the hair feeling soft. Sometimes I supplement this with a brand called "Thicker Fuller Hair", which is a green shampoo that thickens, nourishes, and replenishes.

Shampoo is universal, its not just made for women. There are lines that specify men because companies feel men will but things that specifically say men on it. You should always use good shampoo and conditioner.
