I've been afraid of the dark for as long as I can remember. I just get so scared when there's no light. How have you gotten over your fear of the dark?

i find it difficult also an i can completley emphasise with your predicament. What I have started to do is instead of leaving my bedroom light on is to leave the hall light on. Also i find that sometimes the fear of the dark isnt a direct fear of the dark, sometimes it is the fear of been cut off/shut in a room without being able to see anything.

Also i must ask are you afraid of the dark in open spaces for example camping, another good way i feel to get over it is to camp some, it may sound stupid but if you camp you get used to the dark as a natural element rather than something that you must force upon yourself at night when u sleep when all you have been surrounded by is light
I really hope this helps
Sam :)

Yes, I once was afraid of the dark. I guess I got over it with a dimmer and dimmer night light till I didn't need one anymore.

Also, I remembered the fact that there wouldn't be light without dark and dark without light.
