A very good question, indeed. I have noticed the same so, no, you are not the only one. You know, this phenomenon is a matter of the psychological condition of yourself (and other singles, guys/girls alike). Let me explain a bit; when you have a girlfriend, you feel your spirits soar, you are happy with sparkling eyes, a broad smile, even if your girl isn't around at those moments. You feel wonderful because you know she IS there for you and, believe me, it's visible! Other girls get attracted by it because when you feel good, you spread the feeling around you and therefore become attractive to others (BUT they don't know whether you have a girlfriend or are you such a nice guy by nature). While when you are single, it's visible too! You act in a different way, don't have 'the trade mark'; let's call it 'Happy confidence'.
I wouldn't advice you to trick girls by imitating you are going to marry soon. Somehow I don't believe it would work or you may meet girls who only look for a married man; you probably know it's nothing good about it.
My sincere advice for you - try to feel happy no matter what & don't go out with an idea 'I must hunt for someone tonight or...' Trust me, you will see the positive results soon.
GOOD LUCK!

It has to do with confidence. Married men appear more confident and non-threatening, and (hopefully) have no hidden agenda, so women are often more comfortable with them. A fake wedding ring probably won't help to much with this.

I think it's more a confidence and attitude thing. You probably feel and act better when you're in a relationship. Just look and act confident and girls will pick up on it.

It's because you're trying too hard when you want a date. When you have one, you're yourself but when you are single, you try to be charming, you end up oozing too much charm and that puts girls off. Be NORMAL, not a desperate spaz looking to get laid...Not that I'm saying you're a spaz, it's just what I think.

you know i have to agree with you. i think more than anything you probably act different when you have someone. maybe it's a venerability of feeling alone. but i also have come to the conclusion if your doing something that you really like, girls kinda dig that. as long as your haiving fun, people notice.

We can smell desperation a mile away. Be less available. When you go out, don't be looking for a girl. Tell yourself you have a girlfriend. That attitude usually works.

things just tend to happen that way.
maybe it's becuase when you're in a relationship you're more prone to looking for stuff like that and when you're single you take it for granted and your subconcious ignores it. i'm not sure, but right now i think guys just don't pay attention when they're single.

What kinds of girls are you trying to get? Try getting a new hobby or new friends who aren't like that.

it happens to me. i find that when I'm with someone I'm happy and confident with myself so I guess others are drawn to that, but when I'm single I'm not sure and confident of myself and people can read this.
