I do positive thinking most of the day. Whenever something bad happens I think how it could have been worse, and i try to look at the bright side. There always is a bright side to everything...just sometimes its hard to find. When I feel I am loosing it I take a few deep breaths and always remember...life is so much harder for someone else.

I think its more important to avoid unnecessary "stinking thinking" and catastrophising, where you make a mountain out of a molehill. Once you stop creating problems where there aren't any or blowing events out of proportion you'll get a much better sense of perspective and don't need to "resort" to positive thinking which can sometimes feel rather false and contrived.
