Yes I am a buddhist, we believe reincarnation takes place until the ego-centric part of you that anchors you in the samsara (plain of existence) is destroyed through enlightenment. Ones reaction to the purification of the soul causes ones mental state in the next realm. There are six: realm of hell, caused by anger; realm of the pretas (hungry ghosts), caused by greed; realm of the humans, caused by passion; realm of the animals, caused by ignorance; realm of the jealous gods, caused by paranoia; and realm of the gods, caused by pride.
I have passed in ignorance through a cycle of many rebirths, seeking the builder of the house. Continuous rebirth is a painful thing. But now, house builder, I have found you out. You will not build me a house again. All your rafters are broken, your ridge-pole shattered. My mind is free from active thought, and has made an end of craving.
- Buddha -
As to the question about population growth, Buddhists believe everything has a soul. Each second an acre of rainforest is destroyed. How many plants, insects, animals and birds live in an acre of rainforest, how many crops are harvested, animals slaughtered? It all balances out, as the human race expands it depletes natural resources, killing other creatures and plants.

i don't believe that reincarnation is open to everyone ... and up till recently i did doubt it at all
but i am warming to the idea that some do live another life
i say not all because i do speak with spirit and if everyone reincarnates at the point of death , then no spirit would be communicating with me
i also believe that we learn much more in this life than we imagine , not only through our own personal experience but from those around us ... and more these days with TV etc ... we can learn about people and emotions that we would never have been able to in previous years
having said that ... i have heard wonderful examples of past lives
but i would have to have proof given of such lives or i find that there may be other reasons for experiencing past memories

Re-incarnation or rebirth is a belief system of most major religions. When a mind consciousness leaves the dead body, due to its ever active karmic forces and mental thoughts at that moment of dying, its take in visions and follow it to be reborn into that new form of existence, be it animal, hell, human or devas (gods) and ghosts.
Yes, reincarnation is real and a correct view. As to your past 5 lives, that is hardly correct as all living sentient beings have infinitely many past forms of existence.
Take care.

Well, i believe that there has to be a balance. Therefor if there is a heaven there must be a hell. If there is a god or goddess then there must be a devil, or whatever you would like to call it. I personally dont believe in anything this early in life because i dont think any religion makes sense. I really would like to find out what makes sense so i can hopefully have a religion. Right now I think religion is stupid. No offense to anyone who does belive in religion. Hoped I answered. I do however wish reincarnation makes sense because it sounds like really cool, lol.
Love ya! Bye!

Hmm. I don't think it's an either-or question...
I don't believe in heaven or hell, but I'm still out on the reincarnation thing. It does make the most sense to me, though, and I love the Buddhist teachings on it: Of course you take care of everyone in the world, because we've been reincarnated so many times, every living thing has been your closest soul at some point.
Also, looking at it through Buddhism and knowing how the Dalai Lama is found and how many rinpoches and lamas have been able to identify themselves in their reincarnations at a young age...

It is something I have considered. I do not believe in Heaven or Hell though. At the moment, I am pretty sure that when I die, I will stay in the ground and decompose. I have thought about reincarnation before though. It is an interesting subject.

Dear Savannah, I myself , am a born again Christian. I am not reincarnated, but transformed by the Holy Spirit. There are religions out there and there is simple Christianity. We are all children of God. (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. God so loved you, that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ to shed His blood on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins.
Before God created the world, He had you in mind. Yes you, Savannah. Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open to you. He is using me to reach out to you now. Just grab a New International Bible and read what the the living Word is telling your heart. You have been created by God from love. God is love. Read Mark from the new Testament. God bless and keep you

well i beleive that as humans we will never know anything about an afterlife but i have spent many countless hours of my life contemplating the afterlife and i do beleive reincarnation is the most logical possibility and as for that athiest guy who says not he is foolish and lacks a realistic opinion because the truth is no onw knows.

Population continues to grow where are the extra people coming from? Reincarnation is an impossibility that leaves heaven and hell.

I believe in Heaven and Hell. It is all written in the Bible. I suggest that you do some research on the matter. God gave His only son as the ultimate sacrifice. The only rebirth is after a person acknowledges their sins and ask the Lord to come into their life. Jesus is our savior and it's not His will that none shall perish. Upon death, you will surely go to heaven or hell. Choose wisely......your life is depending on it.
