The reason the flood stories are so common is because when the ice from the ice age melted it would have flooded much of the known world. There actually was a flood.

Yes, of course....it all goes back to Hinduism in one way or another...the Hindus probably have it more right than all the others put together. They even explain the "big bang" as a Brahman night....very deep, very mystifying, and very ancient. Yet we are constantly amazed at intelligence shown by religions other than our own. Christians seem to be the most amazed, well other than Muslims, that is.

the fact that the story exists in more than one form shows it is true
in a lot of ancient cultures, there are references to a universal flood
just because the Bible explains it in a different way doesn't mean it isn't true

There are several stories like that, which occur through-out history, even before monotheistic religion. If anything, it lends creedence to people who follow religions as metaphorical.

it can be.... cuz Noah (peace be upon him) was the second prophet to come after Adam.. then there came a lot of other prophets to different ppl... n they mite have wrote it down too... n when moses, jesus(peace be upon them) came... it was revealed in their books too...n the same happened with Muhammad)peace be upon him).. its also in the QURAN...
ot only proves one thing.. that there is only ONE GOD n He's the God of everyonw... n that Adam noah abraham moses jesus muhammad (peace be upon all of them) r the MESSENGERS of Allah n that they All brought the SAME message from Allah(GOD)...
