The best burger joint in DC is called "Five Guys" - don't go to its location downtown, go to the location on Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown. It's not a fast-food joint like McDonalds, it's a burger joint with unbelievably delicious burgers in a really cute setting. It's laid back and is on the Washingtonian's Best Eats list.
Other restaurants you may want to try: Mourayo in Dupont for Greek, Indique in Cleveland Park for Indian, Zaytinya in downtown Gallery Place/Metro Center for Middle Eastern tapas, Mama Aisha's in Adam's Morgan for Middle Eastern, Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown for Pizza, and Two Amy's in Glover Park for the best pizza in the city.
Check out my site: http://candaceh.yelp.com for reviews on all kinds of different restaurants in DC.
Have fun!

The best Thai place in DC is called Talay Thai, and it's right near the Cannon House Office Building and the Capital South Metro station. Their Pad Thai is to die for!

Maybe you should have been more specific in your question from the start. Your a pretty funny guy taking a hamburger so serious, in the fact that you had to respond to my newborn question with somthing about fast food! but hey if it gets ya 2 points i am all for it.
