Like incest, 26 is relative. If you are 86 and they are 26, they are young. If you are 6 and they are 26, they are old. If you are a turtle, 26 is young. If you are a butterfly, 26 is ancient. There is no need to cheer them up--they're 26 and that's a fact. If they cannot face it, tell them to think of the alternative.

When people, in developed countries at least, are regularly living to their late 70's and on into their 80's it would seem a bit of a streatch to consider a 26 year old not to be young.

Tell them some guy thats 47 will gladly trade places with em:). Seriously, At 26 just be happy you have a lot of energy, and often time...and yes even though it seems like your old, you have a lot of miles left on the tread.

Oh my goodness! How I wish I were that young! But in a youth obsessed culture it can seem like anything over 20 is old... This just isn't true. But he might still need to take a look at how he is living his life and if he is doing the things that make his life feel meaningfull.
