Dog tricks for dummies is great if you have never trained a dog before. It very clearly goes through several training methods for housebreaking, basic obediance, and tricks. It includes leash training, basic commands like sit, stay, come, heel...
It's very good and you can get it fairly cheap in a book store or dirt cheap online at places like amazon.com and half.com

His method is non -violent training and works great. Its all baised on clicker training and praise. I took my dog to his class and it was the best traing class ever.

go to a puppy obedience class then to a basic class they will answer all of your questions

teach him now,, i have one, and a jack Russel,, they are best friends,,male, i taught him a few things or send him to obedience's school..i have not teach him how to drink JAMAICAN RUM YET,,
