I am a 20 year old new mother and work full time so, its hard to date. But, I would like to find "The One"... Internet dating seems so impersonal, and most of the time I contact perverts that only think about sex, and not long-term relationships. Any advice?

there are so many different types of dating sites, but one that I like that is in the same situation as you (almost) is called: http://www.singleparentsmingle.com and I like it here because you get to meet other people who also have kids...I am a little older than you (32) but not every guy out there wants kids etc...so for me I think it is better to look for someone who has kids already too...best of luck with everything :)

Oh...and about your comment that it is so impersonal...I like it better because you can weed out the bad ones right away. For me, I like the chatting and IM before I actually meet the person so then we have a lot to talk about....GOOD LUCK :)

First off, congrats for being a new mom, and a single one at that:) Takes a lot to raise a child by yourself!
As far as your question... I have been to a few internet sites, and the one that is probably more for people looking for "the one" would be Eharmony. The few that I have been on, yes, many of the male ads were looking to hook up. Eharmony is more for people that are looking for something long-term/marriage. If that is what you are looking for, that is my advice. If you just want to go out and date, then probably something like match or yahoo.

it is not a good idea for you to meet or search on line for love. most of the time you will get, as you said, perverts only wanting to text about sex.

a good idea would be your workplace,if you are allowed to date co workers. these are people you know and work with so at least this way you know them a little more than someone on line.

another idea, is to go to church, meet and make friends there and see where it goes from there.

have your girlfriends set you up with a blind date or introduce you to any available male friends they may have

that's the problem with internet dating. And you don't always know if someone you meet on the internet is truthful.

Take your time. You are only 20 and sooner or later you will find the right one.

Right now your focus should be on your child. Its dangerous enough for you to be meeting people online, but think about your baby too. If you are active in your daily life, you'll meet someone doing your daily tasks (work, grocery store, gym, church, etc.). But until then, put your energy into being a good parent.

Yea, heres is some advice i hope will help. Do not look for "The One" on the internet. You will meet him around town. Don't worry, he is waiting for you to find him. Just be patient and don't try to rush it. You will find him, trust me.

(sigh.....................) Please don't use the internet to find "love", get out, go meet people, join a Church, do some volunteer work, at least meet people face to face huh?
