I live according to God because he is the creator, the Father, The Master and almighty God. I believe that we, as Christians, are the vessels of Christ and he is the blood. God works through us for his will, not our will. We are nothing without Christ and everything with him. We give all the glory to God for what he has allowed us to do. I just want to serve the Father with my life.

Well... you need not surrender your life to the Lord to do good and help others. I'm sure there are lots of folks that don't believe in the Lord, yet are kind, helpful, compassionate etc. I don't want to create a stir.
For me, it wasn't "all or nothing". My becoming a Christian has been a process and the more I learn, the more I realize there is no 'completion'; it's on going with your life.
If you ask me.... you'd be good to go to the religious section of a book store or even a Christian book store that can help give you thought provoking questions to help you resolve your personal questions. Remember, all of your answers are inside you. God has a plan and you're part of it because he chose for you to be born.
A great and super easy, non-committal book that I picked up was called Bible Seeds. Each section is 1.5 pages; you can read it in the washroom. It gives a verse, some food for thought and then 1 page to write down your thoughts. It's great because when you're not doing it, you'll come across something in your day that reminds you of what you read and helps you gain better perspective of your thoughts.
Good Luck
And to Chris P who posted earlier in this string:
Passage Job 22:21:
21 "Submit to God and be at peace with him;
in this way prosperity will come to you.

Tell me where it says surrender your life to the Lord.
I am a Christian and I do as I am led.
If not led by the preaching of some pastor in a pulpit does this mean I have not surrendered my life to the Lord?
I do as I am led.
If it is to fly into the face of some would be pastor who lead the flock astray, that is what I shall do.

Surrendering my life to the Lord has been relatively new concept for me. I never really knew that there will be rewards given in heaven including the five crowns and the ones that we don't know about. I have been truly working on surrendering my life to God after I learned of this. God bless you.

Know what, I don't. I think I have tried, and I always forget. For me, it's a matter of always having to come back to the Lord and surrender to Him again so that He can use me. I don't do it enough. I should.

I am not sure if surrender is the right word, but yes giving you life to Christ is the only way to really live a life. If you spend all your time being selfish then when you need help who will help you? You know the golden rule? Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. giving your life to Christ is really like handing yourself a bunch of good karma.

It is sad that there are so many scoffers and unbelievers who are wiling to make fun of Christians and the Lord. but one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. I surrendered my life to the Lord a long time ago and I have never regretted it.

If Jesus is the Lord of your life, then the life you live should be evident of Christ working within you. "Surrender" encompasses many things in ones "life." Relationships, money, dreams, hope, honesty, integrity, humilty, kindness...shall I go on? There is only one Truth. Know the Truth. Do what it says.
