The recipe calls for 8 oz of thawed Cool Whip- Kraft recommends refrigerating the cool-whip for 4 hours to thaw- is there any way to speed it up? The Cool Whip gets folded into a key lime mix and cream cheese.

Please don't microwave the Cool Whip. It will change the texture of the Cool Whip and it won't be any good. I've tried it and the results were awful! So, I don't know of any way to thaw the Cool Whip faster than in the fridge.

I make my own cool-whip by using Heavy Whipping Cream and a little bit of sugar. Use a handmixer or a stand mixer, pour in the whipping cream with sugar to taste and beat until stiff peaks form. This process takes under 10 minutes to make. During the holidays I'll a little rum or bourbon to top the Pecan pie.

To thaw the Cool-Whip let it sit on the counter for a little while. Instead of 4 hours it should be ready in about 2.

I would thaw it in a microwave, but not entirely. Thaw until barely soft and still cool to avoid 'cooking' the cool whip. Refrigeration is the best way to thaw previously frozen items and the safest!! Good luck with your dessert.

You can leave it on the counter for 30-60 minutes. Won't change the texture or make it watery but will thaw quite fast. And it's non-dairy whipped topping so you won't get sick by doing this.

I do no-bake cheescakes all the time, I use whipped eggs whites instead of whipped cream.

let it set in some warm water for a bit...that should help thaw it quicker

You could try zapping it in the microwave.
Sounds like a yummy dessert, good luck.
