Well, I've got three, and I cannot really figure out how to
label anyone of them as number. I guess if I had to order
them, it would be:

1: Nelson Mandela - spent 25 years in jail and when he came
out, rather than destroying his attackers, he worked with them
to forge the South Africa of today.

2: Lech Walesa - created the union of Solidarity that arguably
brought down communism, at least in Poland.

3: "Tank man" - the student that stood in front of the tanks
at Tiananmen square. Although he did not succeed in
overthrowing the barbaric leadership of the country, he did
catch the world's attention and made it much more difficult
for China to abuse its citizens.

My cousin, Dr. Deborah Card. She was the first college graduate in our family of black people. She inspired me to finish college and my daughter recently graduated with two baccalaureate degrees. She set the standard and encouraged those that came after to strive for excellency.
