I blame most of it on the parents. If they really cared about there kids and their future or well-being than they would be there to help them in school and keep them out of trouble. Our parents are our first teachers.

I find that you asked the question the way you did ironic as the correct grammar would be "Where have proper grammar and education gone?"
Second, I partially blame the "No Child Left Behind Act" which forces teachers to pass children who are not ready.
Thirdly, many parents do not take the time to help their children learn or do not take the time to work on their own language skills.
However, that being said, I do not think future world leaders anywhere will be illiterate since not EVERY parent or EVERY child has problems and usually the ones who don't are the ones who get involved in upper governmental levels.

"Where Good grammar, and Education have gone??"
Should be:
"Where have good grammar and education gone?"

"Education has gone It's a shame for America that our future leaders are illiterate!!!"
Should be:
"Education is less important than it has been. It is a shameful condition for the Untied States that our future leaders will be illiterate."

I agree, but it's not just America's problem. It's the same in Canada, and I've heard friends in England complain the same, and I guess everywhere else. The written word has lost its importance in society, with books being looked at as "geeky", people trying to find ways to go around reading (movies, audio books) and more and more children turning to TV or video games in their free time instead of books.

We are seeing the consequences of not showing our children that reading is fun and important. In all languages.

You are right! Education begins at home. Don't rely on the american education, you need to do it on your own sometimes.

Well, you're concerned about those who can't spell. I'm concerned about those who can't think or come up with original ideas.
