I am looking to take a vocal track off of a song, and remix it with some of my music.
Does anyone know a free program that does that?
Any suggestions would be loved!!

What you would want to do is go download the Acapella version of that track. I think it was either you or someone else asked the same question, but there's no programs out there that can successfully take out the vocals from a track. There's programs that say that, but none of them can do it. The only things that can do it (not to perfection but damn near), are hardwares. Those hardwares can run up to $600 or more for each rack. The reason why they are so expensive is that it is REALLLLY hard to do that. All the frequencies of sound are finalized in the final master & also in the mixing stage. I would suggest saving up a lot of money if your really into music though, and using something you created yourself instead of using samples. Otherwise, your looking for a program that doesn't exist, sorry.

Pro Tools has a wonderful free version (or at least they did a few years back) whose only difference from the paid version is eight tracks instead of 64. digidesign.com, I think.

The only thing is, with that or any other program, nothing's going to neatly pull the vocals off unless the song in question is already in more than a stereo track format. It can be done, but it takes playing around with frequencies quite a bit. I do believe there is a (rather expensive) program out there that will do that, but I'm not sure of the name of it.

I think that if you can find AV RACK somewhere, that could work. But I don'y know to what extent. I have it on my pc already downloaded somehow and it has two sections, one for recording, one for other stuff and you can change tempo and stuff too
