I Just do not understand how Christians think this is false. Iv'e known this from i was a child, the Passion of Christ goes exactly how the story went, Their is only one thing missing and the man who helped Jesus carry the cross was an african. When soilders beat, They are going to beat! that's just the truth.
Annais and Caiaphas (Cheif Priests of the Pharisees) had been working tirelessly to incriminate Jesus so that they can stone him to death (as was Jewish custom for certain sins). They along with the Sadducee's asked him trick questions, try to catch him working on the Sabbath and so on but these didn't work as he always answered correctly, they tried to make him break the Roman Laws (Jerusalem was occupied by Rome at the time) by asking him who should the people pay money to but Jesus outsmarted them.
Everything failed so they paid Judas to snatch him in the night and force Pilots (the roman Governor) hands to crucify him, The Governor did do it although he didn't break the Roman Laws, so it was the Jews fault because if Rome wasn't there they would have killed Jesus themselves a long time before they actually did.

If you are not a Christian and never heard of Bible before, then the answer is yes, the facts presented in the movie are a part of what million of people trust to be true and base their belief on.
And the story is true according to the facts recorded by the apostoles and crossed with the historical evidences on how the Romans used to punish at that time and in that particular situation.
If you ask that question being a Christian, then you also are an idiot.

As with any movie there is the "Hollywood" side of things. But with life there is the "Holyword" side of things. We are all at fault because we are all sinners. But what was the reason for such a brutal death? To wake all of us up. Without following a good set of principals, we live destructive lives. Either to ourselves or those closest around us. The way Jesus died was to get our attention so that we may take a closer look at what he had to say and how it contrasts the way we live. When people truly seek the Truth, repent (change), and put the Plan into action in their lives, you start to experience the miracle of creation instead of live Satan's scheme of destruction.

No, the film is sensational BS ( to be polite). Made by an angry man to appeal to peoples vulnerability and emotions in order to make money, of course. Can folks see that? No! Whose fault that Jesus was crucified? Blaming all the Jews and excusing all the Romans for this hypothetical man's death is incorrect, but it makes a better story when there are definite antagonists and protagonists. According to legend JC knew what he was getting into, so whats the point of blame? Gets everyone all stirred up of course, so that more folks waste their $$$ on the movie and Gibson can own more of Malibu. Poor old Jesus, he's been idolized, hyped, used, and dragged through the mud by his devoted followers including the churches, for several thousand years. I'm tired of it, and if he was real, he'd be tired of it too.

I think the story was has true has it could have been as no one here on earth was around to witness it. They took the account from the Holy Bible and reenacted what they thought happened. And it was no ones fault. Christ was sent here to specifically go through the Crucifixion to cleanse human kinds sins. He choose to do this He loves us so much. I have no worries, I know I speak the truth.

Jesus in my opinion died for sins just like we do. We all die for each other's sins. Some of us die over longer periods, but it is the differences from the ways we were predestined to witness the other differences around us and our propensity to deal with that difference that eventually reduces our ability to keep living or multiplying cells. Enough shock or grief or difference eventually does us it. Life is sooo big. But as parts of that Creator we helped to create our circumstances and it is sooo entertaining from heaven even though some of this ride seems so cruel sometimes. We all resurrect, some get witnessed some dont, but we all go to the place from whence we came, heaven, from life back to dust and beyond into spirit. That's life. So the portrayal of the drama? Dramatic, but then so is your life!

The Movie was written as a collaboration of the 4 gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). I believe it to be a very accurate portrayal according to the scripture. I wept like a child and I am not ashamed to admit that. Of course every American has the right to believe what they want...(Though I'm not sure about other countries)

It is biblically accurate. The only scenes that I thought could have been deleted where those where Satan was depicted as children taunting Judas. Although Satan was inciting the roit that led to Jesus crucifiction I didn't like the way that the movie portrayed Satan's role. (no one knows for sure anything about the way Jesus grew up either but His father was a carpenter)

If you believe in the Lord and believe in Jesus, then you know it's a movie based on a true story. The crucifiction of Jesus was all part of God's plan (John 3:16). He gave His Son, so we may have eternal life.

It was Mel Gibson's fault that he tried to make the story accurate. He should have had a clown in the story line so people who ask silly questions can relate too.
